About Klatchmaker
It seems the older you get, the harder it becomes to make close friends. Meanwhile, the U.S. Surgeon General in 2023 called loneliness and isolation an epidemic, with multiple studies showing most American adults feel disconnected.
That’s why Klatchmaker exists.
Klatchmaker is an online tool that helps you find a tight-knit circle of real friends. It uses a special algorithm to match you in a group of 4 or 5 strongly compatible people who live near the same area. Klatchmaker makes it easy for you to connect with your group online and in person. Video chats and icebreakers help you and your group members get to know one another before you commit to the group and start scheduling in-person hangouts.
Vince Dixon, a journalist, digital media creator, and editorial web developer, created Klatchmaker after recognizing his own challenges with building post-college relationships. He found himself longing for a tool that would let anyone simply plug in their interests and personality type and be matched with the perfect group. After finding that few good options like that existed, he decided to create one. After several years of work, Vince launched Klatchmaker in 2025.
Who is it for? Klatchmaker is a self-care tool designed for adults who are proactive about their well-being and social health. Klatchmaker is for people serious about making real platonic connections with people in person. There are no gamified swipe marathons, popularity boosts, crowded meet-and-greets, or blurred lines. Klatchmaker simply works as a personal superconnector, using research-backed insights to build a small circle of compatible friends just for you.
How does it work?

Let us know where you are and what you’re looking for.
Complete the quizzes
After signing up, take a series of compatibility quizzes so that Klatchmaker can understand your interests and personality.
Initiate a match attempt
After completing the quizzes, you can tell Klatchmaker to start finding a group for you. Klatchmaker uses its algorithm to create a group of 4 or 5 highly compatible friends. Klatchmaker groups can be coed or single-gendered (Klatchmaker Plus and Klatchmaker Gold members can lock in their preferences).
Meet online and commit
Once matched, check out your new friends’ profiles and send them messages. Schedule a time to meet in your group’s special video-conference room and get to know one another.
Hang out
If enough members commit to the group, the group becomes official and members can begin scheduling in-person hangouts.
