Community Guidelines

Klatchmaker is committed to fostering a respectful, safe, and welcoming environment for all users. These rules outline the behavior we expect on the platform and during any in-person meetings arranged through it. By using our service, you agree to follow these standards at all times, in addition to those outlined in our Terms of Service and Safety Guidelines.

1. Be honest and authentic:

Users are expected to represent themselves truthfully. This includes using your real name, accurate photos, and honest information about your age, location, and profile details. Impersonation, using fake profiles, or any form of deceptive behavior is prohibited.

2. Maintain a platonic environment:

Understand that Klatchmaker is NOT a dating app or dating service. Do not join Klatchmaker or Klatchmaker groups with romantic intentions. Klatchmaker groups are meant to be platonic. 

3. Respect boundaries and consent:

Consent is essential in all interactions, both on and off the platform. Respect other users’ personal, emotional and physical boundaries at all times.

4. Communicate respectfully:

Polite and respectful communication is expected at all times. The following are not allowed:
  • Harassment, bullying, or intimidation
  • Threats or aggressive behavior
  • Sexually explicit, suggestive or inappropriate messages
  • Hate speech or discriminatory remarks based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation or any other protected category

5. Prohibited content:

You may not post, share or upload content that includes:
  • Nudity, pornographic, or sexually explicit images or language
  • Graphic or violent content
  • Promotion of illegal activity or dangerous behavior
  • Spam, advertisements or commercial solicitations
  • False or misleading information intended to deceive others
  • Content that violates any applicable law or regulation, or promotes illegal activities
  • Content that harasses, bullies, threatens or demeans individuals or groups
  • Content that promotes discrimination, hatred or violence based on race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability or any other protected characteristic, including symbols, regalia or slogans
  • Content that contains viruses, malware, or other harmful code
  • Content that includes the personal or confidential information of others
  • Content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others, including copyrights, trademarks or proprietary content

All content must comply with applicable laws and our platform policies.

6. Prohibited account activity:

You may not:
  • Use your account to represent someone else other than yourself, including a friend, spouse, family member or acquaintance. Joint accounts are currently not allowed, neither is using your account as a defacto joint account. All members join groups with the expectation that the members with whom they’ve been matched are individuals and the sole participants representing their accounts in group chats, meetings and initial in-person meetings.
  • Use your account to solicit money, gifts, loans, donations, clients, favors or illegal activity.
  • Use your account to promote or advertise your business(es), product(s) or service(s);
  • Use your account to deceive others or to impersonate someone else.

7. Virtual meeting expectations

Follow the rules outlined in our Safety Guidelines.

Additionally:
  • Do not film or record video conferences without permission from all other participants.
  • Do not stream or broadcast video conferences.
  • Do not share links to virtual meetings or video conferences with anyone outside of your group.
  • Avoid bringing people you know to in person meetings with your group without giving them a heads up.

8. In-Person meeting expectations:

Follow the things outlined in our Safety Guidelines

Additionally :
  • Choose to meet in public places and let someone you trust know your plans.
  • Do not feel pressured to share personal or financial information.
  • Do not engage in physical altercations or violence.
  • If a meeting makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, remove yourself from the situation and report the behavior.
  • Avoid bringing extra people you know to in-person meetings with your group without giving your group members a heads up.

Your safety is our priority, but you are ultimately responsible for exercising sound judgment during offline encounters.

9. Platform integrity:

Do not misuse or interfere with the platform’s intended function. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Creating multiple or fraudulent accounts
  • Attempting to scrape data or exploit system vulnerabilities
  • Circumventing safety features or restrictions
  • Using the service for purposes other than personal, non-commercial use


10. Reporting and enforcement:

We encourage users to report any behavior that violates these guidelines. We review all reports and take action as needed, which may include:
  • Issuing warnings or temporary suspensions
  • Permanently disabling accounts
  • Reporting illegal behavior to law enforcement, where appropriate

Our enforcement decisions are made at our discretion and are final.

11. Responsibility and accountability:

You're responsible for your own behavior. We’re not responsible for what other users do (or don’t do), whether it happens on the platform or during any in-person meetups or interactions that may come from using it.

12. Changes to these guidelines:

We may occasionally update these Community Guidelines to reflect changes in our policies, features and/or applicable laws. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the latest version.
